Asking persistent and timely questions about the human experience, through art and with extraordinary artists.
Holiday Break and Renovation
We are taking a break from now through January 19, 2024 to rest up, expand our office, and prepare for our next exhibition, “Polly Apfelbaum: Sampling a Sampler Sampling”. Apfelbaum is a New York artist who makes “paintings” from found commercial or hand-dyed fabrics that she lays on the floor. She also makes carpets, screenprints, and vibrantly glazed ceramics. At /m, she will install a variation of a piece she made for the Kunstmuseum Luzern in Switzerland in 2022.

News & Highlights
A NEW NAME, A NEW IDENTITY
We entered 2023 with a new name: Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Art Museum. By replacing “gallery” with “museum” we celebrate of our longstanding accreditation (since 2012) by the American Alliance of Museums. Our new lettermark, /m, uses the language of subdomains to underscore the museum’s relationship to its host, St. John’s College.
